Biographical Note for LYELL'S SYNDROME

Lyell, Alan (flourished 1950–1972), British dermatologist. Lyell's best known paper described toxic epidermal necrolysis, a disease to which his name has subsequently been attached. He also wrote the chapter on skin diseases for a 1971 medical textbook.
